I just popped into the local (new) GameStop store and asked about the WAR pre-order. The guy looked it up (they had no advertising about it yet) and said, "Yup, we have it. Do you want to pre-order the Collector's Edition?"
Now, I'm excited about playing a new MMO, but not that excited. I give him a good old Canadian, "Nopers."
He tells me it's a five dollar deposit so I hand over the five dollars and answer the questions for contact information. He says it will be in on September 25th - which is a little later than I thought. No worries, I pre-ordered so I should get an Open Beta key.
The guy is done and wishes me a good night. I stare at him for a moment and ask, "Isn't there supposed to be some sort of pre-order box or something?"
He snaps the pointy finger at me and says, "Right, let me look."
He pulls out a stack of cards and flips one over. "Open beta, head start program and bonus items?"
"Yup."
He hands one over. I thank him and wander off to find the wife before she starts spending money... lots of money. I remember the look in her eyes when she said, "There's a sale at Laura's..."
As I wandering through the mall, I flip the card over and look at it.
"Thank you for pre-ordering the Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning Collector's Edition."
The guy gave me a CE card not a regular pre-order card.
