The guy was actually from this continent but unable to do anything. They have a no refund policy unless you call on the day of the charge. He did give me the address of someone to talk to so I've fired off an email.
We'll see what comes of that.
I'm a little surprised that they don't have a better back end system that ties the account into log in uses and so on. No reason that information shouldn't be available to the front lines but I guess the guy who answered didn't have an option to really do anything about that. If they were to check their login server logs they'd discover my account had been logged into EQ2 exactly zero (0) times.
I also mentioned I was using Apple's Safari web browser at the time and now it appears to be unsupported with their site (so is FireFox 3 by the way and I can't seem to log in with IE 7...).
Ah well. I might have to put SOE right up there next to Turbine on the "Don't Touch Their Product" shelf until the fix their account site. I'm doing a good job of not equating their billing site to a black hole... you can sign up but never cancel out!
To be fair, I did successfully cancel EQ2 on the weekend. I didn't get a cancellation message for that either, but the guy did say it was cancelled.
