Okay, so mission one was completed - mostly. I managed to get to Exalted faction with the Mag'har and I bought up the Axe I was looking for. I also got enough researcher tokens to get the 18 slot bag. The part I didn't complete yet is the pet leveling. I got my cat to 69th, though he's close to 70. The scorpid is still level 65 and the wind serpent is still level 67. Oh well, I'll level them as I work on other things I'm sure.
Mission two hasn't been worked on yet. I haven't gone and done any instances because I'm waiting on some guild people to do them with me. I've never done them so I'm not sure what to expect. I was hoping for a bit of a tour... I'm also not sure where some of the instances are - just some of them.
Mission three has been underway as well, though I'm getting annoyed with questing in Shadowmoon area.
Why?
Well, it seems there is a bug (at least I think it is a bug) where you get stuck in combat mode. Normally not a problem because my mana regen with Aspect of the Viper is good enough to keep going and I've got tons of bandages. The problem is that I cannot mount up to move around fast and I also cannot feed my pet. To get out of combat I have to hearth out or leave the zone and feign death to clear it. Really shitty...
If anyone out there reading this and knows about this, please let me know if there is some sort of work around or something.
I also decided I'd take up Leatherworking so I've got that up to about 260 or so. I'm blocked by Rugged Leather so I'll have to go farm some of that.
I didn't realize it, but there is some really good high end Leatherworking gear which is better than what I was looking to buy. The stuff I was going to buy was good, but there is epic, creator only gear that is pretty sweet. I'll aim for that which will require a lot of farming, but I'm up for it.
I also am nearing the amount needed for a flying mount. I can't wait for that one, even though I'll only be able to use it in the Outlands.
Arena awarded gear should only be usable in the arena.
I can stomach facing off against people in raid gear or who have been level 70 for a couple of years now so they've got the best PVE gear available, but it seems like everyone has Arena gear and they use it for World PVP. It should be Arena PVP only and the World PVP rewards should be used for World PVP.
It's not too bad when you're facing off against one or two, but when you're facing 3:1 odds and they all have full Arena gear it is just stupidly sick. I had a Warrior charge/stun me and kill me before the stun wore off. Okay, maybe he had a crit or something, but still... It's not like I'm 10 levels lower than he was, we're both 70 and I've got mostly blues.
It just isn't good enough when the opponent is in full purple.
Really, it is going to be pretty discouraging to new people.
I guess I'll just have to beg and plead with someone to let a Hunter onto their Arena team... I hear we suck bad in PVP. Of course, I'll likely get that gear just in time for WotLK expansion to come out and drop me back to the bottom of the totem pole.
Ah well.
The red-haired giant was visiting today and talked some AoC to me. Seems they nerfed Assassins by changing stealth or something. He was saying a level 79 friend walked away from his Assassin because he can't even sneak up on mobs 4 levels lower than he was without them seeing him 20 paces away.
Sort of sad.
I do admit, I'm a little tempted to pick it up again and go with an Acquillionian Guardian or something more meaty. I think my main issues were the feel of the Assassin class was lost on leaving the Isle of Tortage. I think I also didn't really like the theme of the desert race area. I might give it another try... I'm not sure though. I'm really iffy. Maybe a Dark Templar...
Meh...

Warhammer Online. Thats all you need to know. Dispenses all that WoW ESPN PVP garbage
Maybe, though Mythic didn't really do any better with DAoC... at first the field was level, but they added in Master levels and artifacts with levels which made new players suffer some.
I think it is unavoidable to some degree so I have some tolerance for "people having better gear than I do". I just think that if you're going to have World PVP it should utilize things available in the world, not from some sort of artificial arena system.
Two problems with WAR:
1) it isn't out
2) it sounds like it isn't really ready to be out (i.e. down to 2 capital cities from 6, some classes dropped).
Just saw your blog covers WAR and you're in the beta? I'll take a look through and see. :)
