So a certain program is used to play a certain online game in an automated fashion. Turn on the game, launch the app and go to bed. No worries, it'll level you up.
First of all, it's against the EULA to use such things.
Second, it's against the Terms of Service agreement.
Both of these things you agree to when you log into the server to play said game - you can't log in otherwise.
Third, the fellow is selling the software. Basically making money off people who subscribe to this online game service.
Fourth, I could be wrong, but I'm fairly certain the name of the software violates copyrights and/or trademarks, but then I'm no legal consultant or authority.
Fifth, what sort of lame ass loser has to resort to a bot to play a game for them? Oh I can hear the defenses now; "It's so easy, so it's just a matter of time before I get there myself - this just makes it happen sooner", "I already have a billion level 60s", "I pay for the game, I should be allowed to play it how I want".
Sixth, the host of the gaming service has repeatedly banned players for using this third party software since, well you know, it's against the EULA and TOS... anyone surprised?
In case you haven't clued in yet, the game in question is World of Warcraft (a.k.a. WOW) and the software is called WOW Glider.
Anyway, here is a beauty of a thread that should reduce your I.Q. several points. In fact, I saw this thread a few months ago and suffered several concussions trying to sift through the sheer stupidity of it. I only just regained my ability to read and write.
Got to love the anarchist theme and teenage angst... so much hate for the very game they pay to play.
